Explanation of Paper Stock

24/60 lb. Opaque Text

This uncoated (non-glossy) 24# stock is guaranteed safe for copiers and desktop laser printing, making it perfect for economy letterhead and envelopes, Inserts, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogues, Newsletters, Booklets. – Anything with more text than photos. All Uncoated stocks have a more absorbent surface. Four Color printing can be done on them, however, images will appear less vivid than on a gloss stock because inks will absorb into the paper. This stock comes in white, natural and Ivory colors as well. For heavier ink coverage use the 70# stock, or for best results use a glossy or matte stock.

28/70 lb. Opaque Text

This uncoated (non-glossy) 28# stock is guaranteed safe for copiers and desktop laser printing. All Uncoated stocks have a more absorbent surface. Four Color printing can be done on them, however, images will appear less vivid than on a gloss stock because inks will absorb into the paper. Excellent for printable letterhead and large envelopes, as well as Inserts, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogues, Newsletters, Booklets.

Anything with more text than photos. It comes in white, natural and Ivory colors.

70 lb. Gloss Text

This is a glossy paper stock. It is a lighter sto

ck than our House Stock(80# gloss), used primarily for large quantities of Inserts and Mailers where weight and postage costs are a consideration. The white glossy finish provides an excellent base for rich process color printing of Photos and bright graphic color images. Also used for Flyers, Newsletters, Catalogues and Booklet guts etc…

 

80 lb. Gloss Text

This is our House Stock. It is a glossy text weight paper stock, about as thick as a light magazine cover. The white glossy finish provides an excellent base for rich process color printing. Photographs and other graphic images look beautiful. Almost everything can be printed on this stock! Heavier ink coverage can be used. This is our most popular stock for: Inserts, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogs, Newsletters, Booklets, Posters and much more!

100 lb. Gloss Text

This is similar to the 80# gloss text, but 25thicker and heavier, for a more substantial feeling piece. The white glossy finish provides an excellent base for rich process color printing. Photographs and other graphic images look beautiful. Heavier ink coverage can be used, but in that case it may need scoring to fold better. Standard Uses: Inserts, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogues, Newsletters, Booklets, Posters etc…

70 lb. Matte Text

All Matte stock is finely COATED with a non-gloss or DULL finish. It provides an excellent opaque base for easy to read, crisp color printing. It provides a less shiny, more “corporate” feeling finished job. However, it is easy to smear when heavy, solid ink coverage is applied. It is primarily used for inserts and mailers where weight and postage costs are a consideration, Flyers Brochures, and Catalogue and Booklet guts.

All Matte stock is finely COATED with a non-gloss or DULL finish. This stock is a heavier version of the 70# Matte Text. It provides an excellent opaque base for easy to read, crisp color printing. It provides a less shiny, more “corporate” feeling finished job. However, it is easy to smear when heavy, solid ink coverage is applied. Standard Uses: Inserts, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogues, Newsletters, Booklets, Reports, Bills, Note pads, Posters etc…

100 lb. Matte Text

All Matte stock is finely COATED with a non-gloss or DULL finish. This is similar to the 80# Matte Text, but 25thicker and heavier, for a more substantial feeling piece. It provides an excellent opaque base for easy to read, crisp color printing. It provides a less shiny, more “corporate” feeling finished job. However, it is easy to smear when heavy, solid ink coverage is applied, and in that case it may need scoring to fold better. This medium weight Cover stock has a more rigid feel than text, and is also known as “card” stock. . The white glossy finish provides an excellent base for rich process color printing. . Standard uses: Brochures, Light weight Booklet and Catalog Covers, Rack cards, Door hangers, Product Spec Sheets, etc. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

100 lb. Gloss Cover

This is a thick, heavier version of 80# Gloss Cover. Cover stock has a more rigid feel than text, and is also known as “card” stock. The white glossy finish provides an excellent base for rich process color printing. Photographs and other graphic images look beautiful. Heavier ink coverage can be used. Standard uses: durable, heavy-weight Brochures, Booklet and Catalog Covers, Rack cards, Door hangers, Product Spec Sheets, etc. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

This white stock, coated with a dull finish provides a silky base for process color printing. Illustrations and other images look beautiful. Standard uses: Durable, heavy-weight brochures, light weight booklet and catalogue Covers, Greeting cards, rack cards, door hangers, Product Spec Sheets, etc. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

100 lb. Matte Cover

All Matte stock is COATED with a low-gloss or DULL finish. All Cover stock has a more rigid feel than text, and is also known as “card” stock. This white stock, coated with a dull finish provides a silky base for process color printing. Illustrations and other images look beautiful. Standard uses: booklet and catalogue Covers, greeting cards, rack cards, postcards, reply cards, door hangers, product Spec Sheets, etc. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

10 pt. C1/S Cover

This is a very durable Cover (or “card”) stock. This stock has a glossy coated finish on one side, and an uncoated non-glossy finish on the other side. Used for larger quantities of Postcards that require one side to be full color and the other side to be either blank or just black printing. It is also the preferred choice for use in Presentation folders, Door hangers, Booklet covers etc. *Aqueous coatings are usually applied to the glossy side because the high acidity of this stock which causes inks to dry slowly. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

12 pt. C1/S Cover

This is a very durable, (slightly less white) Cover (or “card”) stock. This stock has a glossy coated finish on one side, and an uncoated non-glossy finish on the other side. This stock is a thicker, heavier version of 10pt C1/s Cover. Used for Postcards that require one side to be full color and the other side to be either blank or just black printing. It is also used for heavier Business Cards, Presentation folders, large Door hangers, Booklet covers etc. *Aqueous coatings are usually applied because of the high acidity of this stock which causes inks to dry slowly. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

10 pt. C2/S Cover

This is a very durable, double sided gloss coated Cover stock, or “board” stock used for making Business Cards, Postcards, Mailers, Rack cards, Door hangers, Booklet Covers, Presentation folders etc. *Aqueous coatings are usually applied because of the high acidity of this stock which causes inks to dry slowly. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

12 pt. C2/S Cover

This stock is a thicker, heavier version of 10pt C2/s Cover. This is a very durable, (slightly less white) double sided gloss coated cover stock, used for making Business cards, Postcards, Mailers, Rack cards, Door hangers, Booklet covers etc. *Aqueous coatings are usually applied because of the high acidity of this stock which causes inks to dry slowly. *Cover stock must be scored before folding.

This is a medium weight all purpose uncoated Cover stock. This one has a slightly rough, uncoated finish. All Uncoated stocks have a more absorbent surface. Four Color printing can be done on them, however, images will appear less vivid than on a gloss stock because inks will absorb into the paper. Great for text and illustrations. This stock is a medium weight cover stock that can be used for Inserts, Brochures, Catalogues, Newsletters, Booklet Covers, Reports, Rack cards, Door hangers, Posters etc.

100 lb. Uncoated Cover

This is the heaviest Uncoated Cover stock we carry. All Uncoated stocks have a more absorbent surface. Four Color printing can be done on them, however, images will appear less vivid than on a gloss stock because inks will absorb into the paper. Great for text and illustrations. This stock is a Heavier weight cover stock that can be used Brochures, Newsletters, Booklet Covers, Reports, Post cards, Rack cards, Door hangers, Kit Covers etc. * Cover stock must be scored before folding.
