A BLOG is derived from “Web Log” and is a type of website, or part of a website, where a person writes articles and/or makes regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.
Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other. It is this interactivity that distinguishes them from static websites.
Most blogs are used to provide news or information about a particular topic.
From a Business Owner’s Perspective.
Blogs build a large volume of content over a period of time. Visitors like them because it gives them something new to read or see. Search Engines love them because they know blogs have the freshest and most up-to-date content about a particular topic.
If you’re going to draw traffic to your business with the hopes of getting visitors to buy your products, services, ideas or causes, then you will end up blogging. Better sooner rather than later.
VLOG or Vlogging is making short video blogs. They are good RSS feed tools but not so hot for search engines because the robots can’t understand video. So it does very little to help with search engine placement, but visitors are drawn to them. Tag words can be used to describe or “tag” a video so the search engines can still find videos that include keywords. So mixing in a few vlogs can be a great idea.
